The annual Flyway Feast fundraiser is held
at The Flyway Hunt Club (historic hunt club south of Creeds
on Princess Anne Road - Route 615, just past the North Carolina
line).
This annual event is the Foundation's major
fundraiser and membership drive and has been enjoyed by hundreds
of people each year. Tickets to the Flyway Feast for
2004 were $35 per person ($40 @ door) with one child under
twelve admitted free with a ticket holder. This ticket price
includes a Foundation annual membership,
all you can eat barbecue pork and chicken, corn on the cob,
potatoes and onions, coleslaw, baked beans and bread, and
a wide variety of beverages. There is always excellent live
music, a snake handler display, children's activities, door
prizes, a raffle, and live and silent auctions of many beautiful
and interesting pieces of art and other items of local interest.
The year 2005 Flyway Feast was hugely successful
in raising environmental awareness as well as funds for the
upcoming year. A special thanks goes out to all
who lent their support financially, through donated artwork,
and through hard labor, cooking, setting up and cleaning
up.
Proceeds
are tax deductible and go towards the continuation of BBRF
projects and programs which include education programs, the
construction of wood duck nesting boxes and osprey platforms,
monthly water quality testing and many other projects that
assist the Foundation in its effort to restore and rehabilitate
Back Bay and the North Landing River.
Tickets should be purchased in advance as a
limited number are available. For further information or
