PADDLEFEST 2000
If you weren’t at the Pig Pickin’ on Sept. 9th, chances are you were at the Munden Point Paddlefest, presented by Wild River Outfitters. That’s OK, because BBRF was there, too! The two-day event drew in nearly 1,000 people from all over Virginia and North Carolina. Visitors to the Paddlefest could attend instructive courses in canoeing and kayaking in a safe area, ecotours that departed every hour, and a marketplace that included 8 vendors and bunches of new and used canoes and kayaks. Big thanks go out to the volunteers who represented BBRF at our t-shirt and information booth at Munden Point: Betty Palmquist, Dorinda Shiel, and Angelo Costa. In addition to the items sold at the booth, Wild River Outfitters raffled off five prize bags valued at $300 each, and raised $855 for the Foundation! A special thanks to Lillie Gilbert and everyone at Wild River Outfitters. |
